Privacy Policy

Effective August 12, 2026

This policy explains what Pastor Z processes when you use the iOS, Android, and browser apps, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.

What we collect

Account data: your account ID, sign-in method, email, verification status, and name if you provide one. App data: your questions, generated answers, saved studies, settings, and lookup activity. Full visible conversations and most preferences stay on your device or in your browser. Support data: information you choose to send, plus account and device details included by the support form. Operational data: request identifiers, timestamps, how much of the service you used, security signals, errors, and performance information needed to run and protect the service.

How your questions are answered

When you ask a question, it travels over an encrypted connection to Pastor Z. Pastor Z may retrieve Scripture and research material, then sends the needed question and context to a server-chosen AI provider. Google currently writes those answers. Research search may also use OpenAI. You do not select or pay a provider.

Where your data lives

Your full chat stays in this browser, separated by account. Pastor Z keeps a short server-side recap for about 30 days so a conversation can continue. Account profiles remain while the account is active. Usage and security records may last longer when needed to prevent abuse. Service logs and support email are retained for operations, security, and support and are deleted or anonymized when no longer reasonably needed.

Services we rely on

Google Firebase provides authentication. Amazon Web Services hosts the application, databases, caches, logs, and support email delivery. Google Gemini currently generates answers. OpenAI helps with approved research search. These providers process data under their own service terms and privacy commitments.

AI provider retention and training

Pastor Z does not use your chats to train its own models and does not opt in to provider training. Providers may keep limited safety logs. Google's terms for paid Gemini services state that prompts and responses are not used to improve its products, although limited safety and abuse logging may occur. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used for training by default and may retain abuse-monitoring data under its API controls.

What we never do

We do not sell personal data, show third-party ads, or build advertising profiles. We share data only with service providers needed to operate Pastor Z, when you ask us to, or when required to comply with law, protect people, or secure the service. The Pastor Z website and app do not use third-party analytics cookies.

Deleting your data

Starting a new chat clears the old one here and asks Pastor Z to drop its short recap. Deleting your account in Settings → Account removes your profile and stored conversations. Provider safety logs, security records, backups, or records required by law may remain until their applicable retention periods end. For access, correction, or deletion help, email us from the address associated with your account.

Children

Pastor Z accounts and generated answers are for people age 18 or older. Do not create an account or submit personal information if you are under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.

International processing and security

Pastor Z and its providers may process data in the United States and other locations where they operate. We use access controls, encrypted transport, pseudonymous metering identifiers, and server-side provider credentials, but no online service can promise perfect security.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be called out in the app.
